What’s better than a great drink?
A great drink and a view. In case you haven’t heard, here in Columbus, we’ve finally discovered the majesty of rooftops. Over the past couple of years, we’ve slowly seen the rise of the rooftop patio, a trend that is only going to continue as hot new spots go up around town.
Luckily, while we’re waiting on those mixed-use buildings to finish up, there are still quite a few patios offering sweeping views. Here are our picks for the best rooftop bars in Columbus.
Novak’s is an oldie but a goodie. What it lacks in size, it certainly makes up in character. Plus, it’s location is perfect for starting off a big night out. Novak’s is located at 475 N High St, and they’re open til 2:30 a.m. every night.
Okay so technically this isn’t in Columbus, but Vaso is honestly one of the most amazing bars and it wouldn’t be right to leave it off the list. Located at 6540 Riverside Dr., you’ll find the bar resting atop the AC Hotel. If you’re searching for a romantic date night that will wow your boo, go to Vaso. Open Sunday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday/Saturday from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Seventh Son Brewing’s rooftop manages to feel like the coziest rooftop you’ve ever been on. Sure, it may not have sweeping views of the city, but it’s still got tons of character. Good vibes live here and a night on this roof has my stamp of approval. Seventh Son is located at 1101 N. 4th St. They’re open Monday through Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 12 a.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m.
I don’t even know where to start with this. IT’S SO BEAUTIFUL. It’s not a contest, but Juniper has views of Columbus that are unparalleled. It’s perfect for a romantic date or an intimate event and honestly, I’ve lost my train of thought because I’ve been overcome by those views. Juniper is located on top of 580 N 4th St. They’re open Tuesday-Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Friday from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m.
Is Franklinton staying funky? You can keep an eye on it from BrewDog’s rooftop patio. Not only can you enjoy delicious craft beers, but I can almost guarantee there will be pups on the patio. Dogs, a good beer, and a great view… sounds like heaven. BrewDog Franklinton is located at 463 W Town St. They’re open Monday-Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m., Friday-Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
This is one of my favorite little rooftops in Columbus. Not only can you grab a perfectly crafted cocktail or sour beer from the bar, but you can enjoy it on the roof. They’ve got a cozy fireplace, casual lighting, and a wonderful environment for throwing a few back with your pals. Antiques on High is located at 714 S. High Street. They’re open Monday-Thursday from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m., Friday from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m.
Lincoln Social is a fantastic addition to the rooftop bar scene here in Columbus. It has insane views of the city and a great location in the Short North. It’s glamorous yet accessible, and it’s quickly become the place I take my friends who are visiting Columbus from out of town to impress them. Lincoln Social is located at 711 N. High Street. They’re open Tuesday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m., Friday from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m., Saturday from 1 p.m. to 1 a.m., and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Alright, it’s time to take to the skies. Get your phone ready, because it will be very Instagrammable.
