Construction is under way on Columbus’ newest high-end, high-rise hotel.
Sitting directly across from the Greater Columbus Convention Center, the Canopy Hilton Hotel at 77 Nationwide Blvd will add yet another place for visitors to stay downtown. Especially during large conventions. The hotel will reach 12 stories high and consist of approximately 137,000 square feet. Maybe Columbus won’t get passed over the next time a big political convention wants to come to town.

“We are thrilled to be bringing this new high-end, lifestyle brand to Columbus,” said Alan Assaf, Chief Operations Officer at Indus Hotels, in an email.
The hotel will have 154 guest rooms and 13 suites, but it’s more than just a place to stay. The Canopy will give the people of Columbus another upscale place to get food and drinks. The Canopy Central Cafe & Bar on the first floor and a rooftop bar at the top of the building will serve the city some great food and great views. A fitness center, 915 SF Facility, will be located on the 12th floor along with the rooftop bar.
The demolition of the two-story HER Realtors is already complete. According to Assaf, the hotel will take anywhere from 15–18 months to build. The hotel’s location will give visitors easy access to both the Short North and the Arena District.
Indus Hotels is a hotel management and development company. On top of this new Canopy Hilton Hotel, the company owns seven other hotels around Columbus, one in Newark, OH, and one in Pittsburgh.
