The Moxy Hotel In The Short North Is Open And Totally Gorgeous

Move over, ordinary hotels. Moxy has arrived.

The boutique hotel, located at 800 N. High Street, is youthful and fun, with a focus on flashy and functional decor and having a good time.

The interior at Moxy is inspired by the fashion community here in Columbus. The lobby is not your typical hotel lobby. Guests check-in at the bar, where they are greeted with a specialty cocktail, beer, or coffee. The lounge area is massive, with modern seating, and you can kill time in the game area where there are a handful of arcade games as well as a pool table.

“Moxy is a place for people to come who want to have fun while they’re traveling. You know, we provide a great room and it’s a great location,” said general manager Clint Deacon. “The whole experience is designed to have fun and be able to do whatever you want without having to leave this building.”

The whole vibe of the Moxy Hotel is very chill. Moxy is luxurious, but it feels more like staying with friends or family than staying in a hotel. There are sassy pillows on the bed, warm and inviting colors throughout, and easy access to things like extra shampoo and towels.

On the sixth floor, several of the rooms have balconies overlooking N. High Street and the views are seriously impressive. The hotel has its own private rooftop patio for guests, where there will be special programming like yoga and eventually, bar service.

You don’t have to be a guest at the hotel to enjoy the bar in the hotel and it genuinely feels like the kind of place you could meet up with friends for a drink and feel super relaxed. If you’re looking to book a staycation or you’ve got friends coming in town, don’t hesitate to check this place out. You’ll love it.
