Marlow’s Cheesesteaks is about to bring some serious Philly flavor to North Market Downtown!
The beloved cheesesteak spot, run by husband-and-wife team Shanika and Jomar Sheppard, will officially be opening their third location at the historic market.
The Sheppards, originally from Philadelphia, made their way to Columbus in 2017 thanks to a job transfer. A few years later, in 2021, they decided to channel their love for authentic Philly cheesesteaks into a food trailer. It didn’t take long for Marlow’s Cheesesteaks to gain a loyal following, which led to the opening of their first brick-and-mortar location in Gahanna in 2022.
Now, the duo is taking the next step in their culinary journey by opening at North Market Downtown—one of Columbus’ most iconic food destinations.
“We’re honored and excited to partner with North Market and bring a piece of our hometown to Central Ohio,” said Shanika Sheppard, co-owner of Marlow’s. “We’ve been serving up our cheesesteaks since 2021, and sharing that with a wider community is a blessing.”
Marlow’s Cheesesteaks offers a menu packed with irresistible options, from their classic beef and chicken cheesesteaks to a veggie option, a salmon cheesesteak, and, of course, their most popular creation, The Marlow’s Way. This signature sandwich is cheesy, flavorful, and, as Shanika says, “packed with THAT HEAT!” Along with cheesesteaks, Marlow’s will also serve french fries, water ice, and a featured beverage line from Philadelphia’s Hank’s Beverages.
North Market’s Executive Director, Rick Harrison Wolfe, is thrilled about the new addition. “Shanika and Jomar’s entrepreneurial spirit and passion perfectly align with our mission to support local businesses,” Wolfe said. “We can’t wait for the downtown community to experience their incredible food.”
Marlow’s Cheesesteaks is set to open in mid-October.
so mark your calendars and get ready to dive into some authentic Philly fare right here in Columbus. You’ll find them inside North Market Downtown, located at the northwest corner of the market house, across from Lan Viet and COLO Market & Oyster Bar.
Their hours will be Sunday and Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
