I’m going to be honest with you: I never really cared for Santa Claus.
As a kid, sure, I appreciated the fact that he dropped off all of my favorite things in the middle of the night, but I always felt like he got a lot of credit for something he wasn’t doing by himself.
Think of the elves, working non-stop to build all of our toys. And Mrs. Claus, who took care of all of the housework even though Santa only technically worked for one day out of the year!
And we can’t forget the ones who made toy delivery possible in the first place: The Reindeer. They are the true heroes. Without their magical flying abilities, we’d all be opening nothing on Christmas morning.
With these residual childhood feelings haunting me this time of year, you can imagine my excitement when I found out there is an awesome reindeer farm just an hour north of Columbus.
Although the reindeer at Pine Acres Reindeer Farm aren’t known for their flying capabilities, they’re just as adorable as you’d imagine.
At the farm, you’ll find several furry Christmas icons waiting to greet you throughout December. This year, visits to the farm are $10 per person. The farm will be open from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on December 16, 21, and 22.
Overnight at the farm will include a special activity, including face painting, horse-drawn wagon rides, and a special reindeer “flight school”.
This year, tickets won’t be sold in advance or come with specific time slots. If you plan on visiting, you can stay the entire time! Pinecrest Reindeer Farm is located at
8746 Larue Prospect Rd La Rue, OH 43332. For more info, you can visit their Facebook page.
Who’s ready to see the hardest-working Christmas crew of them all?
