Every day is a good day to have French toast.
It’s a breakfast essential in my house, and I know I’m not the only one. I think what I love most about French toast is the versatility of it. You can have it on cozy, winter days or on sunny summer patios. You can keep it simple or load it up with toppings. Basically, there’s no way for French toast to be bad.
But that’s enough talking. It’s time to devour some of the best French toast around Columbus.
The Woodbury | Downtown
So technically, this is French toast casserole, not traditional French toast, but it would be a crime not to mention it. I may or may not have a little obsession with The Woodbury, but it’s for a good reason: their menu is freakin’ delicious. This super sweet French toast casserole comes with a praline topping, vanilla buttercream, and mixed berries.

DK Diner | Grandview
Breakfast at DK Diner is always a treat, but that’s especially true when you order the French toast. The french toast is made with fluffy slices of Texas toast and a housemade cinnamon spice batter. It’s more traditional than some of the others on this list, but that’s not a bad thing. Sometimes, you just want the classics.

Tommy’s Diner | Franklinton
Speaking of classics… Tommy’s Diner has recently become my go-to French toast destination. It’s so filling and the duo of butter and whipped cream simply can’t be beat. Plus, Tommy’s has a vintage vibe that makes for an authentic old-school diner experience.

Starliner Diner | Hilliard
Starliner Diner is such a gem. They have a ton of breakfast favorites to choose from, but their Cuban French toast is out of this world. It’s perfectly seasoned and topped with powdered sugar and fresh fruit. Sign. Me. Up.

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you combined cinnamon rolls and french toast? You don’t have to wonder anymore. Hangover Easy’s Cinnamon Roll French Toast is sliced cinnamon roll bread that’s grilled then topped with buttercream icing, fruit, and whipped cream. Absolutely divine.
