The scene that existed a few years ago — multiple clubs with standing 18-and-up nights — is mostly gone. Here’s what actually changed, and where you can still get a night out before your 21st.
What Happened To Axis?
For years, Axis was the answer to this question — the iconic Short North club ran 18-and-up every night of the week. That ended in the summer of 2025, when Axis moved to a 21+ policy during all regular hours. The club has said the change isn’t necessarily forever, and it has pursued special permits to open some Pride events to the 18+ crowd, so keep an eye on their events page — but on a normal weekend night, you’ll need to be 21.
Skully’s: Show-By-Show
The legendary Ladies 80’s night is long gone, but Skully’s hasn’t shut the door on the under-21 crowd entirely. Many shows admit under-21 guests with a $5 surcharge (some shows excluded), so it depends on the night. Check the calendar before you head out.
Park Street Cantina Is Gone
The Arena District taco-and-dancing spot that anchored this list closed quietly after the pandemic. The 491 Park St. space is being reborn as Spice Restaurant and Bar — a revival of the restaurant that lived there in the 2000s — but the 18+ dance nights went with the Cantina.
So Where Can You Actually Dance?
Honestly, the dedicated weekly 18+ club night may be extinct in Columbus right now — we couldn’t verify a single one. What’s left is more scattered: Counter Culture 614 runs periodic 18+ dance parties and DJ nights (announced through their socials), concert venues around town regularly run all-ages and 16+/18+ shows, and the under-21 surcharge model at places like Skully’s means the right night is out there — it just takes checking the listings.
