Ugly Tuna Saloona will close their doors after 14 years on campus.
The bar, which failed to reach an agreement with their landlord, will participate in its last Senior Crawl at OSU today.
“I want to take the time to thank all of you who have visited and who have made great memories and friendships at Ugly Tuna for the past 14 years,” wrote owner John Votino yesterday on Facebook.
“The bottom line is that time changes everything and the Campus Partners group did not want to renew our lease and as much as we tried – at the end of the day we have to close tomorrow night after our 14th senior crawl.”
Former customers and employees shared their gratitude and disappointment at the news of the closure.
Although there’s no official word on what will take over the space, Votino told 614 Magazine that he’s heard rumors that the bar will be converted into office space for OSU.
