The Best Thrill-Seeking Adventures Around Central Ohio

Looking for that heart-pounding, life-changing, adrenaline rush? There are so many ways for thrill seekers in Ohio to have fun.

From the classic methods like wicked fast roller coasters to helicopter rides, Ohio has some amazing options. We may not be known around the world for our adventure, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t tons of thrills just waiting for you.

Here’s where you can get your adrenaline pumping around the Buckeye State this summer.

Slip N’ Fly

A new twist on an old backyard classic, the Slip N’ Fly is located at Ohio Dreams, an adventure camp for teens. This summer, the slide will open up to the public for SlipnFly Fest, although 2022 dates have not yet been announced. That means those who are crazy enough to embark on this unique ride can finally have their turn. The slide can also be rented for private events.

Skydiving

What better way to get yourself all pumped up than to jump out of an airplane thousands of feet in the air? Okay, sure, there may be easier ways, but skydiving is pretty cool. There are a lot of places in Central Ohio to book skydiving experiences, but I’ve heard great things about AerOhio. It’s a bit of a drive, but you’re going to be jumping out of a freaking airplane, so I feel like you can handle a little road trip.

Ohio’s Best Roller Coasters

The state of Ohio has a ton of heart-pounding options when it comes to roller coasters. Cedar Point is the only amusement park on the entire planet that has 5 roller coasters that are taller than 200 ft. Last year, 3.6 million people visited the park, all seeking that unique adrenaline rush that only the tallest coasters can provide. The best coasters for thrill-seekers are the Magnum XL-200, Millennium Force, Wicked Twister, and Top Thrill Dragster.

On the opposite side of Ohio sits King’s Island. Although it doesn’t have the accolades of Cedar Point, King’s Island is the perfect destination for those who want an old-school ride. From wooden roller coasters like the brand new Mystic Timbers and classics like The Beast to all steel beauties like the Banshee and Diamondback, there are plenty of rides to keep thrillseekers coming back for more.

Zip Lining

Cruise through Ohio’s tree canopies on a zip line for the perfect adventure. Zip Lining is one of the best ways to combine a love of nature with your desire to experience fast speeds and gorgeous scenery. There are a plethora of places to choose from in Central Ohio including ZipZone Adventures in northern Columbus. But none are as scenic and beautiful as zooming through the Hocking Hills. Hocking Hills Canopy Tours offer their SuperZip Tour, which is over a quarter-mile long with speeds upwards of 50 mph!

Pure Speed

If you like your thrills a little closer to the ground, then Pure Speed Racing is definitely for you. Whether you’re just looking for a couple of drags down the track or you want to spend all day out there, it’s all up to you.
