Winans Chocolate + Coffee Is Ohio’s Best-Kept Chocolate Secret

I was never very good at keeping secrets and I’m about to blab another one, my friends.

If you haven’t taken advantage of Winans Fine Chocolates and Coffees yet, you need to re-evaluate your life choices. Winans is Ohio-born and bred. Established in the late 1800s, the chocolate confectionery is now in its 4th generation of owners.

The chocolates and coffee are handcrafted and roasted at the Winans factory in Piqua. Luckily, Columbus is home to four Winans locations, so you can get your hands on the treats and drinks much closer to home.

First of all, Winans has a huge variety to choose from. When stopping into the shop, you can start your chocolatey adventure off with a delicious coffee beverage. Then, it’s time to hit up the dessert case.

These tiny, delicious treats are perfect, each showcasing their own, unique flavors. My personal favorite is and always will be the Highland Grogg. The candy is named after one of Winans’ most-popular coffee flavors. Inside the melt-in-your-mouth chocolate exterior is a creamy combination of spices, butter, and hints of Scotch.

If you’re in need of something a little sweet to brighten up a cold winter day, please visit Winans here in Columbus. Trust me, you won’t regret it.
