The city is also ensuring bikers have a dedicated spot to prepare for their rides, rest, and rehydrate. With $175,000 earmarked for this project (thanks to a generous grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and other state funds), Gahanna is gearing up to offer an epic biking experience.

Gahanna’s “Link to Literacy” Trail

Gahanna isn’t stopping at mountain biking. They’ve got another fantastic project in the pipeline – the “Link to Literacy” trail. This 10-foot-wide multiuse trail will connect North Hamilton Road to the Columbus Metropolitan Library’s Gahanna Branch and the Creekside District. Whether you’re a book lover, a walker, or a cyclist, this trail will link you to some of Gahanna’s best spots.

Thanks to a hefty $1.6 million contract with Kimley-Horn and Associates, community members expect top-notch architectural and engineering services that bring this park to life. Construction is slated to start in early 2025 and wrap up by early 2026. Soon, Gender Road Park will be the go-to spot for outdoor fun and activities.

McCoy Park

Last but definitely not least, let’s chat about McCoy Park. This 19-acre park has been part of the city since 1946 and is now set for a major revamp. The plans are super exciting – think fields for crutch/blind soccer and adaptive softball, an accessible playground, a splash pad, and courts for pickleball and basketball. Inclusivity is at the heart of this project, making it a fantastic addition for everyone in the community.
