The 90s are alive in Columbus, my friends.
If you’ve been craving the nostalgia of mall glamour shots of the 80s and 90s, you’re not alone, and you’re in luck. Virtue Salon is hosting its first-ever Glamour Shot Pop-Up with photographer Angela Fortin on November 9.
Glamour Shots rose to fame in the early 1990s. They were a staple at most malls across the country and glamour make-up artists were some of the first to introduce contouring to the world. Basically, this style of photography defined the 1990s and we couldn’t be more excited that someone is bringing it back to Columbus.
The photo sessions at Virtue Salon will include glamour hairstyling and minimal make-up. Attendees are should wear their favorite nostalgic outfits, but there will be some additional pieces to compliment your look, including feather boas, costume jewelry, and more. Props aren’t required, but they are definitely encouraged.
Although your majestic cat or dog would compliment these photos so well, this particular pop-up is not pet-friendly. But don’t dismay! There will be another pop-up in the future to accommodate animals.
Tickets to the pop-up are $55 for 1 person (guaranteed 2 edited images) and $60 for two (guaranteed 4 edited images). After the photo session, your pics will be sent to you digitally with an option to purchase prints. I use the word option loosely because let’s be real, you’re definitely getting these printed and framed for your house.
To sign up for a pop-up slot, call Virtue Salon at 614-725-2329 and they will take your payment information over the phone to reserve your spot. Slots are available between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at Virtue Salon, located at 3282 N High St.
Don’t forget to Instagram your shots. I wanna see those poses people!
