Fans of the Columbus Crew SC assembled outside of Columbus City Hall on Sunday afternoon to protest the relocation of the team to Austin, TX.
The move, which was announced last week by owner Anthony Precourt, sent shock waves through the city. Garnering national attention, the plight of the Columbus Crew has brought to light some of the ugliest truths about professional sports in America.
Roughly 2,000 concerned Crew fans showed up at the “Save the Crew” rally. Speakers at the rally encouraged supporters to continue to speak out, to record video testimonials, and to sign a banner showing their support.
