The History Channel’s American Pickers is coming back to Ohio in October, and the producers are asking for leads before the crew rolls in. If there’s a barn, a garage, or a back building somewhere in your family that nobody has cleaned out in 40 years, this could be your chance for a little television fame.
The production company, Cineflix, put out a casting notice in August saying the show plans to film episodes across Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan in October 2026. A separate release added West Virginia to the swing. The notice has been running in small-town papers and radio stations around the state since mid-August, from Marion to West Union to Cincinnati.
What the show is looking for
The rules haven’t changed since the show started in 2010. Mike Wolfe and his crew only pick private collections. They don’t visit stores, flea markets, antique malls, auction businesses, museums, or anything else open to the public. What they want is the stuff behind closed doors: old signs, motorcycles, carnival pieces, toys, oil cans, anything with a story behind it and an owner who is at least willing to talk about selling.
“We’re looking for unique collections and the interesting people behind them,” producer Meredith Ball told WVXU in Cincinnati.
Willingness to sell matters. The show’s own release says it wants to hear from anyone who “has a unique item, story to tell, and is ready to sell.” Collectors who just want the crew to admire the barn or the goods usually don’t make the cut.
How to get your collection in front of the producers

There’s no deadline listed, but the crew is scheduling October, so sooner is probably better than later.
Ohio has been good picking
This is a regular stop for American Pickers. WVXU’s John Kiesewetter, who has tracked the show’s Midwest visits for years, counts Ohio trips in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020, and 2024. Ohio collections have anchored full episodes: a farmhouse and barn with a rat-rod Rolls-Royce in 2018, a sprawling family farm with a fleet of cars in a 2024 episode called “Farm Fresh,” and a “mancave honeyhole” that Robbie Wolfe and Jersey Jon picked in an episode that aired this past March.
The cast on the road this fall is Mike Wolfe, his brother Robbie Wolfe, Jon “Jersey Jon” Szalay, and Danielle Colby. Frank Fritz, the original co-host, left the show in 2020 and died in 2024.
The show never announces which counties it’s heading to, and it won’t. The route gets built from the leads that come in. If central Ohio ends up on an episode next spring, it’ll be because somebody around here sent an email this month.
