OX-B’s Chicken is saying goodbye to its Short North location.
The Central Ohio-based chicken chain announced that its restaurant at 1177 N. High St. will permanently close after its final day of business on Sunday, July 26.
The restaurant opened inside the former BrewDog Short North space, taking over the taproom’s kitchen after the brewery partnered with OX-B’s. That arrangement came to an end after BrewDog closed its Short North location earlier this year.
“When BrewDog approached us about taking over their kitchen space, it was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up,” OX-B’s President Joe Holbrook said in a statement. “The kitchen was small and unique, but considering our company started out of shipping containers, we knew we could make it work.”
Holbrook said BrewDog’s departure ultimately led to the decision to close the High Street restaurant.
“Following the closure of BrewDog Short North earlier this year, we believe this is the right time to close this chapter,” he said. “We’re incredibly thankful for the opportunity and for everyone who supported us along the way.”
While the Short North restaurant is closing, OX-B’s isn’t slowing down elsewhere.
The company will continue operating its seven other Central Ohio locations in Westerville, Pataskala, Newark, Lancaster, Marion, Mount Vernon, and Buckeye Lake. Another restaurant is also on the way at 7370 Sawmill Rd., just north of I-270 in northwest Columbus.
Customers have through Sunday, July 26, to visit the Short North location before it closes for good.
