The Cutest Halloween Street In Columbus

I’m still a theatre kid at heart, so there’s nothing I love more than someone fully committing to a bit. And no one does Halloween quite like the 1200 block of Bryden Road.

This charming street in Olde Towne East is fantastic no matter what time of year it is, but at Halloween, they really take things up a notch.

Bryden is one of the most iconic historic streets in the city. Named after city councilman James Bryden, the street has been home to some of our city’s most prominent residents through the years, including five-term mayor Lorenzo English, founder and president of the National Football League Joseph Carr, writer James Thurber, and so many more.

The architectural style of the street is incredible.

While traveling down the street, you’ll see homes designed in a variety of styles including Italianate, Second Empire, Gothic Revival, Queen Anne, Four Square, Tudor, Romanesque Revival, Chateauesque, Georgian Revival, Craftsman, and Prairie.

For Trick or Treat tonight, October 30, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., the 1200 block will be giving families and candy hunters a safe and spooky space to enjoy the evening.

Even without mentioning every skeleton or cobweb, trust me, the residents go all out. Between the glowing porches, eerie lights, and a real sense of neighborhood magic, Bryden Road has earned its spot as one of Columbus’ most beloved Halloween traditions.

You’ll probably work up an appetite while you’re strolling through the spooky sights, but luckily there are plenty of great places to stop in for a bite to eat once your done.

If you’re exploring with the kiddos, a stop into East Market will probably hit the spot. They’ve got a ton of food selection with plenty of options for even the pickiest eaters.

If your party is looking to grab some brews after all of the “boos!” you can stop into Gemut Biergarten for some schnitzel and a delicious beer.

It’s always a joy seeing the community come together like this, and if you’re looking for the perfect spot to soak up that Halloween spirit, Bryden Road is where you’ll find it.
