Picking the perfect pumpkin can have its challenges.
Maybe you want to carve a giant jack-o-lantern? Or perhaps your family is more into painting pumpkins. It doesn’t matter what kind of pumpkin you are searching for, you can bet that you’ll find it at one of these amazing pumpkin patches around Central Ohio.
Lynd Fruit Farm offers both pre-picked pumpkins and a u-pick option! Dates of U-pick pumpkins haven’t been released yet, but typically, pumpkins are available starting the last weekend of September. Not only can you grab the perfect pumpkin for carving, you can also pick some delicious apples.
The pumpkin patch at Pigeon Roost Farm is open September 14 through October 31. There are tons of activites at Pigeon Roost for the whole family to check out in the Great Pumpkin Fun Center, including a corn maze, slides, a ninja warrior course, a straw barn, adorbale farm animals, and skee-ball.
Leeds Farm is located just north west of Columbus. From hayrides to zip lines, this farm definitely has something for everyone. The pumpkin patch is open on Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., from September 21 through October 27. Pumpkins range in price, from $1 for smaller pumpkins and gourds, to $20+ for giant jack-o-lantern pumpkins.
Head out to Sunbury to enjoy all of the fall fun that Hidden Creek Farms has to offer. Take a hayride out to pick the perfect pumpkin from the patch, go down the giant slide, or have a visit with some of the farm’s animals. Hidden Creek also offers all of the fall treats that everyone loves, including apple cider, kettle corn, and fresh baked pies. The farm is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays from September 21 through October 27.
Circle S Farms is home to one of my favorite pumpkin patches around Central Ohio. That may be because I grew up going here with my family, or just because it’s awesome. Either way, it should definitely make your short list of pumpkin patch contenders. Admission is $10 per person, and $4 per pumpkin. Take the hay ride, stop by the petting zoo, and enjoy a full day of fall at the “family fun farm”. Fall festival weekends usually begin the last weekend of September.
Located in Canal Winchester, Schact Farm is a family run farm that offers a variety of fall veggies in addition to pumpkins.
