27 Amazing Pictures Of IKEA Columbus That Will Make You Want To Be First In Line On June 7th

IKEA Columbus is adding the finishing touches before the grand opening next Wednesday on June 7 at 9 a.m.

The 44th U.S. location of the Swedish home furnishings vendor will allow super excited customers to start lining up in front of the store at 9 a.m. on Monday. It might sound a little crazy to line up days in advance to get into the store, but IKEA is planning on handing out all sorts of giveaways all of opening week, so it’s totally worth it.

Here are just a few of the many promotions during IKEA Columbus’ opening week:

  • A free EKTORP three-seat sofa: the first 44 adults in the store on June 7.
  • A free POÄNG armchair: the next 100 adults in the store on June 7.
  • A free FAMNIG heart-shaped soft toy: the first 100 children on June 7.
  • Cream EKTORP three-seat sofa with striped, floral, and orange throw pillows

“Just as the IKEA store concept will introduce a new way of shopping for the home, we want customers waiting in line to visit our store to enjoy the unique experience too,” said David Garcia, IKEA Columbus store manager.

Garcia, Ohio Lieutenant Governor Mary Taylor, Columbus City Council President Pro Tem Priscilla Tyson, Deputy Chief of Mission for the Swedish Embassy Göran Lithell, IKEA U.S. president Lars Petersson will all be present for the grand opening ceremony on Wednesday. The festivities start at 6 a.m. with live entertainment. The commemoration will include the singing of both the American and Swedish National Anthem as the American, Swedish, and Ohio flags are raised.
