Life can get pretty hectic sometimes.
When I’m stressed out, my go-to comfort is heading out into nature, and I know I’m not alone. Since the start of the pandemic, more and more Ohioans have been getting out to explore the great outdoors. And there’s absolutely no better way to experience some of Ohio’s most picturesque scenery than from high up in the trees.
Around the state, there are some fantastic cabins, nestled in the canopies where you can spend a weekend relaxing and recharging. Most of these treehouses book fairly far in advance, but you can also find more availability on weekdays.
They also frequently have waitlists where you can sign up to be notified when there are cancellations. But enough with the boring details. Let’s check out these magical spots!
The Canopy Treehouse

Sitting 20 feet off the ground, this treehouse is made from 6-inch cedar logs. The Canopy Treehouse makes for a cozy getaway, with a fully equipped kitchen, a gas fireplace, a king-size bed, and even in-cabin WiFi. Outside, you’ll find a hot tub, a fire pit, and an outdoor shower. If you’ve been planning a trip to Hocking Hills, The Canopy Treehouse is a great home base for a weekend of hiking and adventure.

Moonlight Treehouse

Looking for a romantic getaway? Moonlight Treehouse at The Mohicans is a custom-designed treehouse made from 100-year-old barn siding and hand-hewn beams. From the gentle rain on the metal roof to the gently swaying bridge, there’s so much to love about this magical spot. The treehouse is located about 15 minutes from Mohican State Park, which offers some of the most beautiful hikes in the state.

The Beech Treehouse

This Hocking Hills treehouse has so many wonderful features that it’s hard to know where to start. Inside, you’ll find a spiral staircase, a kitchenette, and an electric fireplace. But outside, you can enjoy wooded views from the wrap-around deck, the fire pit, or, the wood-fired hot tub. I mean, does it get any more relaxing than that?

Berlin Woods Treehouses
I love a fun trip to Amish Country as much as the next girl, and getting to stay in a treehouse only makes it even better. There are 6 Berlin Woods Treehouses to choose from, all of which stand about 30 feet off the ground. The different treehouses can accomodate a different number of guests, so find the one that works the best for you and get planning!

The Nest
There is something so whimsical about The Nest. It’s perfectly designed for two little lovebirds, with a single room suite design perfect for couples and honeymooners alike. The Nest was designed by treehouse designer Roderick Romera and the twinkling lights get the romantic vibes going before you even step foot inside. Like The Moonlight Treehouse, The Nest is also located at The Mohicans, which is a popular wedding venue in Glenmont, OH.
