If you’ve ever dreamt of flying, you can get a chance to see what being a pilot is all about without the danger of actually operating a plane. Take Flight Ohio opened in November 2018 and offers flight simulations to those of us out there with zero experience in a cockpit.
There are 4 flight simulation packages available ranging in cost from $34.99-$299.99. The cheapest package includes 10 minutes in the simulation, just enough for a rundown of the cockpit, taking off the runway, and taking the controls when you’re in the air.
If you want more time in the cockpit, the other packages offer 30 minutes, 50 minutes, and 1.5 hours of simulation. Although it is possible that the simulation could cause some motion sickness, it is a fixed-based simulator, which means there’s no actual motion. The cockpit has a 210-degree field of view in the wraparound screen, so the sensations can be pretty lifelike.
The flight simulation isn’t limited to adults. Kids 12 and over can take a turn at taking off from the runway. So if your kid wants to follow in the footsteps of some of the greatest Ohioans of all time, this could be the perfect place to start.
