Brewery District Bar Named Best U.S. Restaurant Bar At Prestigious Spirited Awards

Columbus has another national title to celebrate.

Cobra, the Asian American neighborhood bar in the Brewery District, has been named Best U.S. Restaurant Bar at the 2026 Spirited Awards, one of the cocktail industry’s most respected honors.

Presented each year by the Tales of the Cocktail Foundation during its annual conference in New Orleans, the Spirited Awards recognize standout bars, bartenders, restaurants, and hospitality professionals from around the world. This year’s ceremony marked the awards’ 20th anniversary.

Cobra was the only Ohio winner, taking home the top U.S. honor in the restaurant bar category.

The team celebrated the achievement on social media with a heartfelt message reflecting on what Cobra has become since opening its doors.

“We started Cobra to represent a collection of ideas we hold dear,” the post reads. “The importance of inclusive spaces with diverse voices. The need for an educational focus to show that hospitality is a skill worth devoting a career toward.”

The post goes on to thank the staff, regulars, collaborators, and supporters who helped build the bar into what it is today, ending with a simple message: “You’ve got friends in Ohio.”

That community-first approach has helped Cobra earn a loyal following, thanks to inventive cocktails, Asian-inspired food, and one of the city’s strongest late-night menus.

Located at 684 S. High St., Cobra is open Wednesday through Monday from 4 p.m. until 2 a.m., with food served until 1:45 a.m.

The national recognition puts Columbus alongside some of the country’s biggest names in hospitality, proving once again that you don’t have to leave Ohio to find one of America’s best cocktail destinations.
