Franklinton brewery Taft’s Brewpourium has closed. The business announced the closure on social media on Tuesday morning.
“We are very sad to announce the closure of Taft’s Brewpourium Columbus, effective immediately. We came to Columbus with a lot of excitement to share our beer and pizza, and we were truly welcomed by all with open arms. We want to wholeheartedly thank our friends, loyal patrons, and the city of Columbus for all the love and support the past few years,” the post reads.
Taft’s came to Columbus by way of Cincinnati. They opened in November 2019 at 440 W. Broad St., on the ground floor of Gravity, a mixed-use development near the Scioto Peninsula.
The bar didn’t offer any specific reason for the closure, but they did make sure to mention just how much their employees meant to them.
“More than anything, we’d like to thank our amazing team. They are a group of hard-working, compassionate and spirited people – much like the city of Columbus,” the post went on to say. “We’ve gathered and shared a list of job openings throughout the city, but please do reach out to us (comment here or send us a message) if you know of a local bar or restaurant hiring. We’d love the opportunity to refer our incredibly talented team members.”
Although the Brewpourium here in Columbus has closed, fans of the beer who want one last hurrah can travel down to Cincinnati to visit their Brewpourium there, located at 4831 Spring Grove Ave #1, Cincinnati, OH 45232.
