If you’ve been waiting for an excuse to pick up a pickleball paddle and show off your backhand, good news—Smash Park is officially opening in Westerville this August.
This massive eatertainment destination (yes, that’s a word now) is taking over 3.5 acres at the southeast corner of Polaris Parkway and Cleveland Avenue and packing in over 42,000 square feet of indoor fun with another 15,000 square feet of outdoor space. That means plenty of room for pickleball, ax throwing, duckpin bowling, karaoke, and about a million other ways to entertain yourself—give or take.
What’s Inside?
First off, pickleball. Obviously. Smash Park is bringing four indoor courts, so you can play rain or shine. But if you’re just here for the vibes (respect), you’ll find:
- A full-service restaurant and bar serving up food and drinks that don’t taste like your typical sports bar fare.
- The Paddle Club, a separate 21+ bar for when you need a break from, well, everything.
- A dog-friendly patio and dedicated pup area, because your furry bestie deserves a night out too.
- Private karaoke suites, where you can either become the star of the show or deeply regret inviting your friends.
- A packed event calendar with trivia, sports leagues, and Brunch Bingo, because nothing says Sunday Funday like waffles and bingo dabbers.
Smash Park’s First Ohio Location
This is Smash Park Entertainment Group’s first foray into Ohio, and CEO Monty Lockyear says Westerville’s focus on community and recreation made it an easy pick.
“It was clear that Westerville emphasizes a high quality of life with excellent parks, recreational facilities, and cultural events,” Lockyear said. “Smash Park is all about bringing people together, and we’re excited to be part of that.”

And they’re not just showing up—they’re going all in. The Westerville location will feature a unique layout that incorporates an existing pond, fountain, and bridge, plus a pedestrian path connecting it to the Cleveland Avenue sidewalk and COTA CMAX bus stop.
With plans to hire 100 employees and bring in 10,000 visitors per week, Smash Park is about to be the place to be in Westerville.
