We’ve talked about goat yoga and even cave yoga. But now, there’s something even more unique to add to the mix – sloth yoga! Yes, you read that right. The Columbus Zoo & Aquarium is bringing back their wildly popular event: Slothvasana: Yoga with Sloths, and it’s happening this November!
If you’re ready to channel your inner sloth and take your tree pose to the next level, mark your calendar for November 2 or 3, 2024. This special, private yoga class offers more than just relaxation – it’s a chance to enjoy a serene session with some very special guests, the Zoo’s Sloth Ambassadors.
What to Expect at Slothvasana
The class will be held at the Lakeside Pavilion at the Columbus Zoo, and you’ll get to enjoy the rare experience of having a sloth (or two) make appearances during your yoga session. But don’t worry, while the sloths won’t be present the entire time for safety reasons, you’ll still get plenty of opportunities to be near these adorable creatures. After the class, you’ll get to see the sloths up-close, snap some pictures, and enjoy a sloth-themed raffle.
And of course, what better way to wrap up a yoga class than with some light snacks and a complimentary mimosa (for those 21 and older)? If one mimosa isn’t enough, don’t worry, additional mimosas will be available for purchase.
Tickets & Event Info
Tickets for Slothvasana are $99 per person, which includes:
- Admission to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium
- Complimentary parking (just show your ticket at the booth)
- Access to the yoga session and sloth viewing
- A free event t-shirt
- Light snacks and a mimosa
Yoga mats won’t be provided, so be sure to bring your own mat, along with your ID if you plan on enjoying that mimosa! Keep in mind, participants must be 10 years of age or older, and while you won’t be able to hold or touch the sloths, you’ll still have the chance to admire them from up close after the session.
Additional Event Details
The event is scheduled for two sessions each day, at 9:00 a.m. and noon. You’ll need to show your ticket (either printed or on your phone) to gain entry to the zoo, and don’t forget to check your email for final event details a week or two before the big day.
Whether you’re a yoga enthusiast, a sloth lover, or just looking for a fun, relaxing day at the zoo, this event is a fantastic way to support the Columbus Zoo’s conservation efforts while enjoying a one-of-a-kind yoga class.
