Nestled in the rolling hills of Gambier, Oh you’ll find one of our state’s most beautiful treasures.
The Schnormeier Gardens are one of Ohio’s best-kept secrets. The gardens were started by Ted and Ann Schnormeier in 1996 and have grown to include 50 acres of manicured lawns, lakes, waterfalls, and sculptures.
At the center of it all is a beautiful, Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired home, which was completed in 1994. Throughout the rest of the property, you’ll find a Japanese teahouse, a garden house, a Chinese pavilion, and even an arched bridge.
The gardens are only open to the public during the month of June, starting June 4th. Visitors can come and explore for themselves Thursday-Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the best part is, these stunning gardens are free to visit. You’ll find them at 8701 Laymon Rd, Gambier, OH 43022.
