The Most Expensive Homes Sold In Franklin County In September 2026

The most expensive home sold in Franklin County in September 2026 was 3842 Lambton Pl in New Albany, a 2006 house with six bedrooms that sold for $4 million on September 15th. It sat at number five on Columbus Navigator’s list of the most expensive homes for sale in Franklin County with a $4.2 million asking price, and it closed $200,000 under that. Further down, one buyer of record bought two houses next door to each other on Hillside Dr in Upper Arlington eight days apart: $1.35 million for 1960 Hillside on September 14th, then $2.6 million for 1980 Hillside on September 22nd. Four of the five top sales were in New Albany.

The auditor’s weekly sales reports add up to about 1,750 homes changing hands in the county in September, at a median price of about $300,000.

Seven sales hit $2 million or more. These are the top five.

If you’d rather browse the big ones still on the market, Columbus Navigator keeps a running list of the most expensive homes for sale in Franklin County.

3842 Lambton Pl, New Albany: $4,000,000

Sale price: $4,000,000 (September 15, 2026)

Details: 6 bedrooms, 6 full and 2 half bathrooms, 9,566 square feet above grade on 0.76 acres, built in 2006, New Albany-Plain schools

About the house: The buyer of record is an LLC, and it paid $200,000 under the $4.2 million asking price that had been sitting on Columbus Navigator’s for-sale list. On size, the county and the listing disagree: the auditor counts 9,566 square feet above grade, while the listing counted 14,566 square feet in all. Either number makes it the biggest house in this month’s top five by more than 3,500 square feet, and nothing else in September came within a million dollars of the price. The county’s photo shows a brick Georgian with a columned entry at the end of a brick drive.

About the house: Columbus Navigator’s for-sale list had this house too, in November 2024, with a $2.79 million list price. County records show it sold in January 2025 for $2.3 million, almost half a million under that ask, then sold again on September 14th for $2.7 million. On paper that’s a $400,000 gain in 20 months.

About the house: The same buyer of record bought this 1958 modernist house and the one next door, eight days apart. The house at 1960 Hillside Dr, built in 1959 with three bedrooms and 2,768 square feet, closed on September 14th for $1.35 million. This one closed on September 22nd for $2.6 million. Together the two lots run about 1.3 acres and cost $3.95 million, and what the buyer plans for the pair isn’t in the county record.

About the house: Two houses on Yantis Dr sold for $5 million combined in September, and this was the first of them to close. It’s a 1994 brick house with five bedrooms and six bathrooms on just over half an acre, and it went for $2.3 million on September 9th, five days before 4615 Yantis closed at $2.7 million.

Details: 4 bedrooms, 4 full and 1 half bathrooms, 4,524 square feet on 0.29 acres, built in 2022, New Albany-Plain schools

About the house: The county’s photo caught this one mid-construction in May 2021, house wrap still showing and bricks stacked in the yard; the house was finished in 2022. County sales records show it sold in March 2023 for just under $1.5 million. Three and a half years later, Piper Creek Holdings LLC paid $2.29 million for it, $795,000 more. It’s the newest house in the top five by 16 years and sits on the smallest lot, under a third of an acre.

Just missed the list: 2228 Yorkshire Rd in Upper Arlington, a 1930 house that sold for $2.25 million on September 22nd, and 395 Sycamore St, just east of German Village, a 1920 house that sold for $2.1 million on September 2nd.
