G.D. Ritzy’s Is Nearly Finished And People Are Pretty Excited About It

G.D. Ritzy’s harkens back to a simpler time.

The ice cream and hamburger joint was iconic in the 1980s, focusing on quality and experience at a time when fast-food was dominating the local food scene. The last G.D. Ritzy’s in central Ohio closed in 1991, leaving local fans craving coney dogs and shoestring fries for nearly 30 years.

But now, that wait is almost over.

G.D. Ritzy’s will be returning Clintonville, just five blocks from its former location at E Cooke Rd. and N High St. The project was first announced in 2017 and although the opening date has been pushed back (and back) but the building appears to be in the home stretch now, and the official opening date has been announced as Thursday, September 6th at 10:30 AM.

Located in a former used car lot/A&W restaurant at 4615 N. High Street, the new Ritzy’s will seat 40 people and have a walk-up window for ice cream.
