A Celebrity Chef Is Opening A New Spot Downtown

Fabio Viviani is headed for Columbus.

The celebrity chef is opening Bar Cicchetti inside the Westin Great Southern Columbus. If Viviani looks familiar, it’s probably because you’ve seen him on Top Chef.

After a long career and multiple restaurant concepts around the country, Viviani’s found himself heading up a new concept downtown. Bar Cicchetti’s name is a nod to shareable plates in Venice Italy, which are known as cicchetti.

Earlier this year, Viviani opened New York City’s Bar Cicchetti in the Motto Chelsea Hotel. According to the restaurant’s website, the restaurant occupies “the ground floor of the luxurious new Motto Chelsea hotel” and offers “seasonally inspired dishes, including elevated takes on his favorite comfort food classics, as well as craft beer and cocktails.”

The Westin Great Southern is located at 310 S. High Street. Although a menu has yet to be released, one thing we can all look forward to is getting a taste of Viviani’s famous meatballs.
