Another Central Ohio Rally’s Has Closed And A Dutch Bros Drive-Thru Is Planned For The Site

The Rally’s at 3260 E. Broad St. on the East Side has closed and a Dutch Bros is coming to replace it.

It is the second central Ohio Rally’s to close in a matter of weeks. The location at 1939 Stringtown Road in Grove City closed in August.

What the city’s records show

A filing with Columbus Building and Zoning Services points to the new project. On July 7, a commercial preliminary plan review was opened for 3260 E. Broad St. under the project name “Dutch Bros,” with the work described as a redevelopment for a coffee user. The city voided that entry on July 27 with a note that it should have been filed as a preliminary site plan review, the same early-stage review Dutch Bros has used for its other Columbus sites. Separately, a permit for a new Rally’s ground sign at the address, filed in August 2025, was withdrawn on Sept. 3.

The filing is an early review, and no building permit has been issued for the site. Dutch Bros has not announced the location or an opening date.

Where Dutch Bros stands in central Ohio

The Oregon-based coffee chain announced in June that its first central Ohio shop will open at 5344 W. Broad St. in Prairie Township in the fourth quarter of this year, with a drive-thru and walk-up window and no indoor seating. City filings also show the company working toward shops at 6175 Sawmill Road near Dublin and 5470 N. Hamilton Road near New Albany. The East Broad site would be the fourth known Columbus-area location and the first on the East Side. Dutch Bros reported 1,225 locations as of June 30. Columbus Navigator’s earlier coverage of the chain’s arrival has what to expect from their menu and more background.

Rally’s is not leaving town

The Rally’s store finder still lists eight locations in Franklin County: Parsons Avenue, North High Street, Cleveland Avenue, Georgesville Road, East Main Street, Karl Road, South Hamilton Road in Whitehall and South Hamilton Road in Groveport. There are also stores in Lancaster and Newark. For East Side regulars, the closest of those is the Whitehall drive-thru at 837 S. Hamilton Rd., just south of Broad Street on Hamilton Road.
