Columbus Guitar Society Joins Library’s Free Culture Pass Program

If you’re a fan of live music and love a good deal, we’ve got some exciting news for you! The Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML) has teamed up with the Columbus Guitar Society to offer free tickets to their performances as part of the library’s Culture Pass program. Yep, you can now check out tickets to enjoy some seriously talented musicians, all with your trusty library card.

Starting now, two Columbus Guitar Society Culture Passes are available at each of CML’s 23 branches. Each pass grants admission for two people to select 2024-2025 performances. So whether you’re a longtime fan of classical guitar or curious to hear something new, this is a perfect way to enjoy some beautiful music for free.

The Culture Pass program, which launched back in 2018, has grown to include a variety of central Ohio cultural institutions.

From Franklin Park Conservatory to the Columbus Zoo, the program gives library cardholders free access to amazing local experiences that would normally cost a bit to attend. The best part? It’s as easy as borrowing a book. You just visit your local branch and pick up a pass in person. No reservations required!

According to Donna Zuiderweg, CML’s Chief Community Engagement Officer, the Culture Pass program is all about making sure everyone in central Ohio has access to the city’s cultural gems. “As a public library, our role is to ensure equal access to all, and that goes well beyond books,” she said.

With the Columbus Guitar Society now joining the list of participating organizations, your options for free fun are growing. Other popular institutions that participate include BalletMet, Columbus Museum of Art, ProMusica, and more.
