These Community Pools Around Columbus Will Be Open For The 2021 Season

It’s almost summer in Ohio which means it’s almost time to cool off at the pool.

Due to ongoing concerns about COVID-19, communities pools have had to adapt and update in order to open up for the summer safely. Luckily, most pools have systems in place that will help people safely enjoy splashing around.

We’re kicking things off with the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department Community Pools. Daily admission to any of the Columbus pools is usually $1, but this year admission fees will be waived. Visitors will be required to make a reservation.

Canal Winchester Municipal Swimming Pool
Due to COVID-19 and social distancing requirements, pool capacity at the Canal Winchester Municipal Swimming Pool will be limited for the 2021 season. Two swim sessions will be available each day Monday through Saturday. Only one session will be held on Sundays to allow for party rentals. Daily admission and memberships available.

Bexley Pool
The City of Bexley is planning for a COVID-safe pool season in 2021 by offering a daily reservation system for open swim and offering swim lessons and swim team with some modifications. Daily admission tickets are $5.00 per person and will be limited to 130 people for 1.5 hour session.

Hilliard’s Community Pools
Although annual memberships have already sold out for Hilliard’s Pools, daily admission will be available this summer. Tickets will be available for purchase 48 hours in advance and guests are required to follow all COVID-19 policies.

Dublin Outdoor Community Pools
This year, there are season passes and daily tickets available for Dublin’s pools. Due to COVID-19, no resident guest passes will be available. The pools have COVID-19 protocols in place, which you can view in-depth at the link above.

Plain Township Aquatic Center
This year, Plain Township will offer two or three swim sessions per day and close the facility for disinfecting between swim sessions. Capacity limits will be in place, based on public health guidelines to keep everyone safe. Members will be able to reserve a swim session up to 48 hours in advance and non-members will able to reserve a swim session the day of.

The Big Splash (Grove City)
The Big Splash Family Aquatics Center is a municipal water park serving the residents of Grove City and Jackson Township. This year, only season passes will be sold and all reservations must be made in advance.
Opening day: May 31, 2021

Highlands Park Aquatic Center
Highlands Park Aquatic Center (HPAC) will be open for the 2021 summer season. The current operational plan has been approved by Franklin County Public Health (FCPH). Season tickets and daily passes will both be available, but the pool will be operating at limited capacity. Season tickets are available for residents and non-residents alike, but daily admission will be for residents only.

Grandview Heights Municipal Pool
The Grandview Heights pool will be reopening Memorial Day weekend. As the summer progresses and COVID-19 numbers continue to decline, the limited capacity and COVID-19 restrictions will be reevaluated and potentially loosened. Memberships and daily admission are both available.

Worthington Pools
Worthington Pools will return for the year with 3-hour sessions available for reservation for members. In between pool sessions, the facility will be cleaned and high touch surfaces disinfected. There won’t be traditional concessions at the pool this year, but there will be vending machines and daily Food Truck options.
Opening day: May 28, 2021

Pickerington Community Pool
The Pickerington Community Pool will be open this summer with limited capacity and COVID-19 precautions in place. Season ticket holders will get the first go at daily reservations starting at 7 a.m. After that, any remaining slots will be open for Daily Admission.

Minerva Park Pool
The Minerva Park Pool will reopen Memorial Day weekend. There are a variety of membership options, including for residents and non-residents. Those interested in pricing, hours, and more info can visit the link above.

Powell Pool
The Powell Pool will comply with all current regulations and restrictions required by the Ohio Department of Health and Delaware County Department of Health. While the pool won’t be offering swim lessons this season, visitors can still enjoy the other pool amenities, including the 165 foot water slide.

Gahanna Pools
Gahanna Pools will welcome back visitors for the 2021 season. Visitors will be required to reserve a swimming time in advance and both daily admission and memberships are available. At this time, lawn chairs won’t be provided, but guests can bring their own.

Groveport Aquatic Center
This year, season passes won’t be available at the Groveport Aquatic Center. Daily tickets will be on sale for residents and non-residents 48-hours in advance. If all time slots aren’t sold out, day-of tickets may be available. There will be temperature checks at the gate and guests must wear face coverings in certain areas throughout the park.
