The Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML) has expanded its Culture Pass program to offer free concert tickets. Through a partnership with ProMusica Chamber Orchestra, the collaboration aims to enrich the community’s cultural experience by providing free, limited access to concerts alongside other cultural events and institutions.
The Culture Pass program, a staple of CML’s community offerings since 2018, enables library cardholders to explore a variety of cultural experiences. With the addition of ProMusica, library patrons can now enjoy contemporary music performances, highlighting instruments such as the violin, oboe, flute, and harpsichord.
ProMusica’s inclusion in the Culture Pass lineup brings a fresh, musical dimension to the program.
The orchestra is set to enchant audiences with pieces from composers like Bach in their upcoming “Neighborhood Series: Bach and Friends” concerts on February 24 and 25.
The Culture Pass program offers a diverse range of cultural experiences through partnerships with various organizations, including BalletMet, CAPA, Columbus Children’s Theatre, and the Columbus Museum of Art, among others. Passes are available at all 23 CML locations, with certain experiences available at select branches.
To obtain a pass, CML cardholders must visit one of the library’s branches in person, though they can preview available Culture Pass offerings on the CML website. Unlike reserving books, passes cannot be reserved online, encouraging patrons to explore the available options during their library visits.
The addition of ProMusica to the Culture Pass program underscores the library’s commitment to providing accessible cultural opportunities to the Columbus community.
ProMusica’s performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. on Saturday at Worthington United Methodist Church, and 4 p.m. on Sunday at Saint Mary Catholic Church, offering a perfect opportunity for library patrons to experience live music at its finest.
This partnership not only broadens the scope of accessible cultural experiences for Columbus residents but also highlights the role of libraries as community hubs for education, entertainment, and cultural enrichment.
