More than a million sunflowers are about to bloom just outside Columbus, turning Circle S Farms into one of central Ohio’s prettiest summer destinations.
Growing up in central Ohio, I spent many a Saturday at Circle S Farms in the fall for pumpkins, cider donuts, and hayrides.
But the farm saves one of its best shows for summer, when the sunflowers burst into bloom.

The season runs into August, and bloom timing shifts with the weather, so check the farm’s Facebook or Instagram for field conditions before you head out.
Admission is just $5 per person (kids 3 and under are free), and it includes one cut sunflower to take home. If you want more, and trust us, you’ll want more, $10 gets you a mason jar you can stuff with as many blooms as you can fit. Just make sure to bring your own handheld snips for cutting.
It’s the kind of easy, feel-good outing that makes summer feel like summer.
Know Before You Go
Wear comfortable shoes, especially if it’s rained recently, since the paths can get a little muddy. Bring water, sunscreen, and your own hand pruners or garden snips if you plan to fill a mason jar with flowers. Mornings tend to be cooler, while evenings offer softer light for photos.
