The Coshocton Sunflower Festival is a sunny, bright, very photoready experience. The fields are full of golden, towering sunflowers that you can clip for yourself and take home.
In addition to a field full of flowers, the festival also has live music, vendors, food trucks, wagon rides, crafts, and a beer and wine garden. And it’s not only sunflowers anymore: zinnias are in the picking fields too.

Every ticket includes admission, the wagon ride out to the fields, and one sunflower you cut yourself. Add-on packages let you cut more flowers, and discounted early bird tickets are limited, so it pays to buy ahead.
Photo Shoots at the Sunflower Festival
If you’re hoping to plan a photoshoot, you totally can. No additional fees or reservations are required for a photo shoot, but everyone does have to purchase tickets, photographer included. The only weekday date in 2026 is Friday, August 14, so that afternoon is your best bet for a quieter field.
The Coshocton Sunflower Festival is located at 24688 County Road 10, Coshocton OH, 43812, roughly an hour and a half east of Columbus. The festival is held at the Coshocton KOA, and if you’d rather not drive home the same day, campers get festival admission included with their stay.
The 2026 season opens with Family Day on Saturday, August 8, from 12 to 6 p.m. The main festival weekend runs August 14-16 (Friday 2-7 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Sunday 12-5 p.m.), and that’s when the fields hit peak bloom. New this year: the season wraps up on Saturday, August 22 with the America 250-Ohio Celebration, a fair-themed finale day running 12 to 6 p.m. that borrows its spirit from the Ohio State Fair and the Coshocton County Fair.
One thing to know before you lock in a date: sunflowers bloom on their own schedule, so the festival recommends staying flexible by a week or so. The fields look different each visit, from early blooms on Family Day to peak color during the main weekend.
If you fall in love with the fields of gold and want to come back, the Any Day Every Day Pass ($35) covers unlimited visits across all the season’s dates. It includes your admission and a flower of your choice, every time you visit. If you’re planning a photo shoot, this is the pass the festival recommends, since it lets you chase the best light and weather across multiple days.

Are dogs allowed at the Coshocton Sunflower Festival?
Yes. Leashed, well-socialized pets are welcome, and owners are responsible for cleaning up after them.
What happens if it rains?
The festival runs rain or shine, and tickets can’t be cancelled due to weather. Pack rain gear and go anyway. A little rain cools off the August heat.
Do I need to bring anything?
Clippers if you have them (the festival keeps loaners on hand), sun protection, and a picnic blanket if you want to claim a spot on the grass. Plan to arrive at least an hour and a half before closing, since everyone heads out at closing time.
How far is the festival from Columbus?
About an hour and a half east, at 24688 County Road 10 in Coshocton. If that’s a longer drive than you’re up for, Circle S Farms in Grove City has a u-pick sunflower field much closer to home.
