An Ohio Artist Could Create Bridge Park’s Next Big Public Artwork

Crawford Hoying and the Dublin Arts Council are on the hunt for an Ohio-based artist (or artist team) to create a massive, site-specific artwork for the side of a parking garage in Bridge Park.

The piece will be printed on a mesh scrim and installed on the south-facing side of the J Block garage along Dublin-Granville Road, meaning it’ll be seen by just about everyone driving or walking through the area.

We’re talking big.

The artwork will stretch roughly 47 feet tall and 121 feet wide, making it the most visible public art installation in the Bridge Street District so far. The goal is for it to reflect the spirit of Bridge Park and the surrounding community, which feels especially fitting for a neighborhood that’s changed so much in a relatively short time.

What was once more suburban now feels like a true mixed-use hub, with riverfront paths, pocket parks, restaurants, apartments, offices, and events pulling people in from all over Central Ohio. Bridge Park has become a place people actually linger, whether they’re there for a market, a festival, or just a walk by the Scioto with a coffee in hand.

Public art has always been part of Dublin’s personality, too.

Field of corn in Dublin, Ohio

Through the Dublin Arts Council’s Art in Public Places program, the city has commissioned more than 60 permanent, temporary, and interactive works since the late 1980s. Chances are you already know a few of them, like the Field of Corn or Leatherlips. This project builds on that legacy, just on a much larger canvas.

The opportunity is open to professional artists based in Ohio. One artist will receive a $10,000 commission for the final design, and up to three semifinalists will be paid $5,000 each to develop proposals. Fabrication and installation are covered separately, so artists aren’t being asked to cram everything into one tight budget.

Applications are due Friday, January 30, 2026. Artists will need to submit six work samples, a resume or CV, and a short letter of interest explaining how they’d approach the site and connect with the public.

For artists, it’s a rare chance to create something permanent, public, and very visible in one of Central Ohio’s busiest neighborhoods.
