Halloween season is here, Columbus! And if you’re ready to kick things off with a little spooky flair (minus the unpredictable October weather), CAPA’s annual trick-or-treat bash at the Palace Theatre is the perfect way to do it.
On Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 4–7 p.m., the historic Palace Theatre is transforming into a Halloween wonderland for “CAPA Haunts the Palace” — a free, family-friendly event where kids of all ages can collect treats, snap selfies, and explore one of Columbus’ most iconic landmarks.

Inside, you’ll find candy stations, craft tables, and selfie spots galore — plus some extra Halloween magic this year. Expect appearances from the Ohio School of Falconry (yes, real creatures!) and a special guest from Castle on a Cloud Entertainment. There’ll also be a beautiful Day of the Dead display to explore.
Don’t forget your costume — the spookier, the better — and get ready to see the Palace like never before. The event is entirely indoors (so no worries about rain ruining your candy haul) and there’s even an accessible path option for those who need it. Just note: no pets allowed, except for service animals.

The Palace Theatre itself is a treat all year long. Nearly century old, this Columbus gem was built in 1926, back when vaudeville ruled the stage and movie palaces were the height of luxury. These days, under CAPA’s care, it’s home to everything from Broadway tours to symphony performances, and, of course, this spooky celebration of all things Halloween.
So, grab your little ghouls and goblins and get ready for a frightfully fun evening at one of downtown’s most beautiful landmarks.
