The Marble Cliff Quarry Metro Park Is One Step Closer To Reality

When Metro Parks first announced Quarry Trails Metro Park last year, everyone was pretty hyped.

Now, we’ve got even more to be excited about: 118 acres more to be exact. Columbus & Franklin County Metro Parks closed on the land, adding it to the 62 acres purchased last year. The 600+ acre quarry was purchased by Wagenbrenner Development and the parts of the quarry that won’t be used by Metro Parks will be developed into offices, single-family homes and condos, retail space, and multi-family homes.

Now that the purchasing for the park is complete, the design phase can begin. “We’re starting to lay out the plans and do conceptual design of phase one with hope of breaking ground in 2019,” Tim Moloney, executive director of the Metro Parks, told Columbus Business First.

The new park will offer mountain biking, paddle boarding, kayaking, hiking, rappelling, and many more activities, perfect for those seeking adventure close to the downtown area. For more info, please visit keepitontheqt.com.
