Philco Bar+Diner is headed to the village.
PB+D has become the go-to diner in the Short North since they opened in 2013, and now they’re bringing that hipster-fueled breakfast spread to German Village. Philco will take over 281 E Livingston Ave, the former home of Happy Dragon.
The menu will remain mostly the same, with a few adjustments and tweaks that regulars should be looking out for. According to Columbus Underground, owner Tina Corbin and her husband are “currently working with a chef to conceptualize the new menu.”
PB+D is under the same ownership as several other Columbus favorites, including Club 185, The Little Palace, El Camino Inn, and The Rossi Bar + Kitchen.
As a resident of neighboring Merion Village, I have to admit, I was initially hoping that another Chinese restaurant would take over the space, as it’s not a cuisine we have an abundance of on this side of town. But Philco is an awfully awesome “consolation”.
The new bar will have both indoor and outdoor seating and will of course, be serving up diner grub and breakfast all day long. Philco Bar+Diner German Village is expected to open in late fall 2018.
