OhioHealth has officially opened a much needed primary care and urgent care facility in Franklinton.
Highlights:
OhioHealth, a longtime Columbus healthcare provider, has unveiled a state-of-the-art primary care and urgent care facility in the heart of Franklinton, located at 14 McDowell Street as part of the Gravity II development. This $4.6 million investment marks OhioHealth’s commitment to enhancing healthcare accessibility in the Franklinton community.
Primary Care Takes Center Stage
Steve Davies, Senior Director of Operations at OhioHealth Physician Group, emphasized the significance of primary care in the patient’s healthcare journey. “At OhioHealth, we believe that primary care is one of the most important types of healthcare a patient can receive. It’s often the starting point of a patient’s healthcare journey and can help them with care from annual checkups to management of a chronic disease and many other services.”
Davies also highlighted the unique opportunity this facility presents for Franklinton residents. “Primary care is something that has not been easily accessible to those who live and work in and around Franklinton, so we couldn’t be happier to be opening and making these services available to all who need them.”
Urgent Care for Immediate Needs
The urgent care services offered at this facility cater to non-life-threatening emergencies, ensuring that patients receive prompt attention even when their primary care provider is unavailable. Open seven days a week, the urgent care can address a variety of needs, including cold or flu-like symptoms, rashes, minor breaks, sprains, strains, animal or insect bites, minor burns, or cuts, as well as allergic reactions.
Bridging Healthcare Gaps
Gravity Founder Brett Kaufman expressed his enthusiasm for OhioHealth’s presence in the neighborhood, stating, “OhioHealth’s new facility at Gravity means that world-class healthcare is now accessible to residents and visitors in Franklinton.” The facility’s strategic location as part of the Gravity II development positions it as an anchor tenant, contributing to the overall well-being of the community.
Designed for Excellence
The 13,000 square foot space, designed by MA Design and constructed by Elford, reflects a commitment to providing a modern and welcoming healthcare environment. The facility also integrates point of care laboratory services and general X-ray facilities, streamlining the diagnostic process for patients.
Operating Hours and Services
OhioHealth’s new primary and urgent care facility not only addresses a crucial gap in healthcare accessibility in Franklinton but also adds a valuable resource to the community. By combining primary care services with the convenience of urgent care, OhioHealth aims to provide comprehensive and timely healthcare solutions for the residents and visitors of Franklinton.
