Robert George, a well-known figure in the Ohio restaurant scene, is currently facing serious legal charges, including attempted murder, rape, kidnapping, and felonious assault. The 43-year-old, also known as Bobby George, is the owner of several prominent businesses in Cleveland and Columbus, including TownHall and Mandrake.
According to court records, an arrest warrant was issued for George on Friday evening. On Tuesday morning, George turned himself in. His bond was set at $200,000.
The charges stem from multiple alleged incidents involving a woman who reported physical and verbal abuse by George between November 2023 and July 2024.

The victim reported that on November 14, 2023, George allegedly pinned her to the ground and strangled her, causing significant injuries, including blurred vision and bleeding from her ears. The victim was later diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome by a nurse practitioner associated with George’s business.
In another incident, George allegedly followed the victim to her car, held her at gunpoint, and forced her back into their shared home. The warrant details further accusations, including an episode between June 8 and June 10, 2024, in which George allegedly attempted to suffocate the victim by pushing a towel down her throat while making threatening remarks.
The arrest warrant also accuses George of rape, detailing an instance where he allegedly attacked the victim as she was exiting the shower. Additionally, the warrant describes multiple instances of George allegedly throwing the victim around their home and refusing to let her leave during violent altercations.
George’s businesses, which span the Cleveland and Columbus areas, include Ethos Hospitality Group, Bobby George Restaurants, Green Goat Cafe Bar, Lost Social Club, Barley House, Lyv wellness space, Red Space events, Mandrake Columbus, and the two locations of TownHall.
