We did it, friends.

We officially survived all of the boring meetings and busy schedules and we’ve finally arrived at the weekend. If you’re looking for ways to make the most of your time over the next couple of days, you’re in luck. There’s a packed lineup of sports, concerts, and artsy happenings to keep you busy.

Whether you’re cheering on the Crew, catching live music, or soaking in some creativity, there’s no excuse to be bored. So grab your jacket (because Ohio weather loves surprises), rally your crew, and let’s dive into what’s happening this weekend!

Columbus Crew vs. Houston Dynamo

  • Where: Lower.com Field
  • When: Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 2:30 p.m.
  • About: Bust out that Black and Gold and head down to the Arena District to cheer on your Columbus Crew as they take on Houston Dynamo. It’s Family Mascot Day, so be sure to stop and snap pics with Crew Cat and his pals.

2025 OHSAA Girls and Boys State Wrestling Tournament

  • Where: Schottenstein Center
  • When:March 7-9, 2025
  • About: Show your support for the best student wrestlers in Ohio as they compete in the 2025 OHSAA State Wrestling Tournament this weekend at the Schott. You can buy single session tickets or snag a spot for the entire weekend. View the full schedule here.

2025 Big Ten Hockey Tournament Quarterfinals

  • Where: Nationwide Arena
  • When: March 7-9, 2025
  • About: The 12th Big Ten Hockey Tournament kicks off at Nationwide Arena this weekend with three best-of-three quarterfinal series. Match ups include Michigan vs. Penn State, Minnesota vs. Notre Dame, and Ohio State vs. Wisconsin.

OHSAA Hockey Semi-Finals and Finals Tournament

  • Where: Nationwide Arena
  • When: March 8-9, 2025
  • About: Hockey lovers, now is your chance to support a local high school team, Upper Arlington’s Golden Bears, as they play in the OHSAA Hockey Semi-Finals (and hopefully the finals) tournament this weekend. They’ll go up against Mentor on Saturday, while Toled St. Francis de Sales will battle it out with Cleveland St. Ignatius. Both matches’ winners will head to head on Sunday for the championship.

Mnozil Brass

  • Where: Southern Theatre
  • When: Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 7 p.m.
  • About: Celebrate Mnozil Brass’ 30th anniversary with Chamber Music Columbus! This Austrian brass septet is renowned for their quirky and highly entertaining performances with sketch-like comedic components, reminding audiences that great virtuosic playing doesn’t always have to be serious.

Good Kid – Chaos Kid Tour

  • Where: Newport Music Hall
  • When: Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 7 p.m.
  • About: Toronto band Good Kid will be joined by Phoneboy for a stop on the Chaos Kid Tour at Newport Music Hall. The indie rock band, known for hits like ‘Witches’ and ‘From The Start’, have gained fame for music on Twitch, where streamers frequently listened to the band while streaming Fortnite.

The Spoonful Session: Pitts and the Vipers

  • Where: Spoonful Records
  • When: Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 3 p.m.
  • About: Local record shop Spoonful Records hosts the Spoonful Session every Saturday, featuring local musicians and singer-songwriters, completely free and open to the public.

Wilder Woods

  • Where: The Bluestone
  • When: Sunday, March 9, 2025 at 6:30
  • About: The man behind Wilder Woods, Bear Rinehart, is a founding member and lead singer of the rock band, Needtobreathe. This tour will feature songs from his third solo studio album, Curioso.

MadLab Presents: “AI v Us”

  • Where: MadLab
  • When: March 7-8, 2025 at 8 p.m.
  • About: A.I writes a play. A human writes a play. Can you tell the difference? Find out when see “A.I. v. Us” at MadLab. You’ll see two one-act plays with the same story, performed back to back. After the show, there will be a discussion about the future of AI.

A Journey of Iceland

  • Where: Dublin Arts Center
  • When: Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • About: After a successful launch in Iceland, A Journey of Iceland – From Darkness to Light comes to Dublin Arts Council from March 8–April 25. This immersive exhibit blends Erin Boggs’ poetry, Einar Orn’s charcoal drawings, and Kaktus Einarsson’s atmospheric soundscapes to capture the essence of Iceland’s landscapes and culture. Admission and parking are free.

House of Oba

  • Where: The Loann Crane Gallery
  • When: Friday, March 7 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • About: GCAC hosts From the House of Oba, a group exhibition of seven artists with connects to the William H. Thomas Gallery in Columbus. Artists featured in the exhibition include: Ed Colston, Abdi Fakur, Baba Jubal, Ken Leslie, Grandpa Smokey, Aminah Robinson and Baba Shongo.

Symphony of Culture: R&B Women

  • Where: The Harmony Project Community Space
  • When: Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 7 p.m.
  • About: Columbus Cultural Orchestra presents a powerful celebration of influential Black women who shaped R&B music. Etta James, Nina Simone, Erykah Badu, Alicia Keys, Aaliyah, SWV, and more. When we do what we do, this music is reimagined through the unique sound of a live orchestra.

Fat Ham

  • Where: Studio One, Riffe Center
  • When: March 7-9, 2025
  • About: In this witty take on Shakespeare’s Hamlet, the only real death is the patriarchy. Juicy, a young, queer Black man, grapples with identity, family, responsibility, and honesty as generations clash at a backyard barbecue, serving up all of the drama, wit, and existential angst of the Bard with a generous side of humor and heart.

Into the Woods

  • Where: Palace Theatre
  • When: March 7-9, 2025
  • About: Presented by the Butterfly Guild of Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Into the Woods takes everyone’s favorite storybook characters and brings them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece… and a rare modern classic. The Tony Award-winning book and score are both enchanting and touching.

CMA 2025 Wedding Show

  • Where: Columbus Museum of Art
  • When: Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • About: Set at the stunning Columbus Museum of Art, this elegant event brings together a curated selection of top-tier wedding vendors in a stunning, artistic setting. Columbus Brew Festival

  • Where: COSI
  • When: Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
  • About: The 4th annual Columbus Brew Festival will take over COSI, featuring over 50 breweries, 150 beers, and access throughout the museum. The event will take place after museum hours, from 7pm to 11pm, and give attendees access to the museum’s exhibits and some special surprises. Admission will include beer tastings, with food sold separately.
