The Ohio State Chinese Lantern Festival Kicks Off This Weekend

This weekend, one of the coolest events of the season will open its doors at the Ohio Expo Center.

The Ohio State Chinese Lantern Festival returns to the Natural Resources Park at the Expo Center on November 17 with 34 massive, illuminated displays. Powered by more than 15,000 LED lights, the celebration of light will feature the work of artisans from all over China.

The lantern festival debuted last year, with over 80,000 guests enjoying the unique light show. The festival will feature new light exhibits for the 2017 season, including glowing dinosaurs, flowers, holiday lanterns, and exotic birds.

In addition to the lights, there will be performances each night, showcasing a variety of dance and entertainment from various regions of China.

The festival is open nightly from November 17, 2017, through January 7, 2018. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children under 18, and free for kids under 2. Want to take the whole family? A family four pack for two adults and two children is available for $40. Additional discounts for military and college students are available as well. Parking at the event will cost $6 and is cash only.
