San Diego, Here We Come! Southwest Is Expanding Flights From Columbus

Good news for Columbus travelers: Southwest Airlines is adding more flights out of John Glenn Columbus International Airport, making it easier to get to some of the most popular destinations.

Starting in October, Southwest will upgrade its San Diego route from a seasonal, once-a-week flight to nearly daily service. If you’ve been dreaming of sandy beaches and perfect weather, this makes getting there a whole lot easier.

“San Diego has proven to be a popular destination, and this increased frequency addresses the strong demand since the route launched last year,” said Joseph R. Nardone, President & CEO of the Columbus Regional Airport Authority. “We appreciate Southwest’s commitment to expanding service at John Glenn International and meeting the needs of our growing passenger base.”

San Diego isn’t the only city getting more flights.

Southwest is doubling service to Dallas Love Field with two daily departures and increasing flights to Orlando to five per day. The airline also recently launched a new route to Miami, giving Columbus travelers even more options.

Southwest now offers 22 non-stop routes from John Glenn, including major destinations like Atlanta, Denver, Phoenix, and Las Vegas. With these new additions, getting away for business or pleasure just got a lot more convenient.
