A tiny mid-century modern home in Columbus is getting a wave of internet attention after being featured by Zillow Gone Wild.
Known as “The Pink Opal,” the 890-square-foot ranch at 4400 Glenmawr Ave. recently appeared on the popular social media account, where its bright pink exterior and retro-inspired interior quickly caught people’s attention. The home was listed for $250,000 and went contingent less than a week after hitting the market.
The two-bedroom, one-bath home previously operated as an Airbnb. The owners decided it was time to sell the property, and that’s when Zillow Gone Wild got wind of it.
Built in 1960, the house embraces its mid-century modern style from top to bottom. The exterior is painted in a pink-and-teal color palette, while the interior features polished concrete floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, and colorful vintage-inspired finishes throughout the space.
The kitchen includes quartz countertops, a pink penny tile backsplash, and a retro-style Smeg refrigerator that fits seamlessly with the home’s overall design aesthetic.
The property sits in Columbus’ Baby Farms neighborhood, an area originally developed in the late 1920s as an urban farming community with oversized lots intended for gardens and small-scale farming.
Out back, the home includes a detached garage, workshop space, and a backyard filled with rock sculptures created by a previous owner who used the property as both a residence and artistic space.
The Zillow Gone Wild feature added another layer of attention to a property that already stood out locally thanks to its distinctive design and compact footprint. The account’s caption described the house as a “cutie lil MCM” and highlighted the fact that it had already gone contingent after just six days on the market.
