North Market Downtown Scores A Delicious New Artisan Bakery

Exciting news for all you foodies out there! Littleton’s Market, the beloved grocery gem that popped up in Upper Arlington last year, is now ready to sprinkle some extra sugar in the heart of Columbus.

This summer, get ready to welcome Littleton’s Market Bakery at North Market Downtown, featuring not just a bakery, but a full-on artisanal production facility coupled with a charming café.

The bakery’s expansion into North Market represents a deepened bond between two Columbus institutions passionate about quality local food. This is about to be the next big thing in Columbus’ thriving food scene, where community and high-caliber culinary arts meet.

North Market’s Executive Director + CEO, Rick Harrison Wolfe, couldn’t contain his excitement. “Bringing Littleton’s Market Bakery into our fold is a landmark moment for us. Littleton’s embodies the spirit of North Market, with its family roots and dedication to community,” said Wolfe. “They’ve brought together some of the best culinary talent in the city, and it’s thrilling to see this new venture take shape.”

So, what’s on the menu?

Think crusty baguettes, soft focaccia, and a variety of artisan hearth breads and sourdoughs. Not to mention, the pastries—flaky croissants, indulgent cookies, and perfect scones will all be made from scratch with the finest ingredients. This is the place where quality meets creativity.

“The energy of North Market, with its eclectic mix of vendors and culinary enthusiasts, fuels our passion for baking,” said Aaron Clouse, Littleton’s Market Executive Pastry Chef. “This new spot isn’t just about selling our treats; it’s about sharing our art with a community that values and celebrates creativity and craftsmanship in food.”

The North Market team will be led by the nationally recognized pastry chef Aaron Clouse, alongside Desi Vasquez, who brings his artisan bakery expertise from Houston. This dynamic duo is set to make Littleton’s Market Bakery a cornerstone for fresh and innovative baked goods.

“We’re not just opening another bakery; we’re setting up a powerhouse for all things baked, creating a new retail and branding beacon for North Market Downtown,” Wolfe added. “This is a game-changer for both Littleton’s Market and the North Market community.”

The new bakery is slated to open its doors on the southwest corner inside North Market Downtown, where construction is buzzing in anticipation.

Rob Littleton, co-owner of Littleton’s Market, reflected on the journey, saying “Being part of North Market’s storied 148-year history is a privilege. We’re here not only to continue this legacy but to elevate it, bringing together the community through the love of great food.”

Keep your eyes peeled this summer for the grand opening of Littleton’s Market Bakery. It’s bound to become your new go-to spot not just for a cup of coffee and a sweet treat.
