HOMAGE is cleaning out the warehouse, and Columbus gets first dibs.
Starting Friday, Sept. 4, a selection of HOMAGE apparel will be available at all 13 Goodwill Columbus stores. The one-time drop includes customer returns and older merchandise that’s no longer part of HOMAGE’s current lineup, putting a bunch of the Columbus-based brand’s sports gear back into circulation just in time for football season.
The selection will vary by store, and there’s no promise that the shirt you’ve been hunting for will magically appear on the rack. But that’s also kind of the point. You’ll find the HOMAGE merchandise alongside Goodwill’s usual assortment of donated clothing and other secondhand finds, so a little treasure hunting is involved.
And there’s a nice local bonus to the whole thing: Money spent at Goodwill Columbus helps fund the nonprofit’s job training, career coaching, disability services and employment programs throughout Central Ohio.
“We had an opportunity to take a fresh look at inventory that had accumulated over time,” HOMAGE CEO Ryan Vesler said in a release. “These are wearable, sellable products. We felt the best outcome was to get that product back into circulation and into the hands of consumers in our hometown.”
The timing is also pretty convenient.
Ohio State is back at the Shoe this weekend for its first home game of the season, which means Columbus is about to be buried under a fresh layer of scarlet and gray. The Buckeyes will host Ball State on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 12:30, so if your game-day wardrobe could use some reinforcements, Friday morning is probably a good time to start looking.
HOMAGE merchandise will hit Goodwill Columbus stores at 9 a.m. Friday. There’s a limited amount available, and once it’s gone, this particular batch is gone. You can find a Goodwill Columbus store near you by heading over to goodwillcolumbus.org.
