The final piece of the puzzle has slipped into place at Columbus State Community College’s Mitchell Hall.
Their new restaurant, Degrees, is officially open. Run by a full staff of professional chefs, servers, and managers, the restaurant provides valuable experience and learning opportunities for the students in the culinary arts and restaurant management degree programs at the college.
The menu at Degrees is familiar and comfortable, but it’s also gourmet and fresh. The restaurant is open for both lunch and dinner on weekdays only and will be closed weekends and CSCC holiday and semester breaks.
I stopped in during lunch hours to grab a quick bite to eat, and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed. Our server was fantastic and super friendly. Plus, if he hadn’t suggested that we try the cheddar biscuit appetizer, I wouldn’t have had my entire life changed. I know that sounds hyperbolic, but I’ll never look at a boring, regular biscuit the same way again.
When it came time to order, I had to give the Trio deal a try. It’s a half-chicken salad sandwich, a house salad, and the soup of the day. The portions were spot on and the food was flavorful.
At Degrees, all of the tips earned are donated to the Mid-Ohio Market at Columbus State, which helps to provide free food and personal care items to students and community members in need. All restaurant staff earn a living wage, so you don’t have to worry about them!
