Columbus Taco Fest Returns With A New Location And 21+ Format

Columbus Taco Fest is back for its 10th edition this June, bringing a full weekend of tacos, margaritas, and live music to a brand new home at Fortress Obetz.

The festival will take place Saturday, June 6 from 12 to 10 p.m. and Sunday, June 7 from 12 to 8 p.m. Admission is free, but there is one big change this year.

For the first time, the event will be 21 and over, and a valid ID will be required for entry.

After nearly a decade of growth, organizers say the shift is intentional.

“What started as a love for tacos and this city has turned into something we’re incredibly proud of” said Hugo Albornoz, founder of Columbus Taco Fest.

“We’ve spent nearly a decade building something truly special for this city, and this year we’re creating an experience that lets our loyal fans enjoy the fest the way it was always meant to be, great food, great drinks, and great music, all in one place.”

If you have been before, you can expect the core of Taco Fest to stay the same. A lineup of local food trucks and vendors will be serving up creative takes on tacos, alongside craft vendors and live performances from Columbus-based bands throughout the weekend. There will also be plenty to sip on, including margaritas, canned cocktails, and cold beer.

The move to Fortress Obetz and the new age restriction come after challenges at past events, where large crowds led to early shutdowns due to safety concerns. This year’s setup is aimed at creating a more controlled, enjoyable environment for attendees.
