One of my favorite things about New York City is their High Line park.
If you’re unfamiliar, it’s an incredible park built on a historic, elevated rail line. High Line has gardens, art, performances, and even food carts. Plus it gives a unique perspective of the city. Now, The Edwards Companies is considering a similar transformation here in Columbus.
An elevated walkway above E Capital Street in downtown Columbus is long due for an update. Currently a skybridge, the plan would have the roof and walls removed to create the elevated park. The project would connect two other Edwards Companies builds, the PNC Building and a new proposal on the Corner of Broad and Young.
The project is being called ParkWalk and was first proposed at a Downtown Commission meeting back in December. While not on the same scale as New York High Line, the park is still a fantastic use of space in the downtown area.
In the latest renderings, it’s easy to see how this park will quickly become a Columbus favorite. I can see the elaborate proposals, wedding photos, and Instagrammable moments already, folks. To take a closer look at ParkWalk, just keep scrolling.
