From Dry-Aged Steaks to Fine Wines: Inside Columbus’ New Steakhouse

Columbus has a new spot for steak lovers and wine enthusiasts. The Capital Grille, a name known for its dry-aged steaks and expansive wine list, opened over the weekend. With its promise of a relaxing yet upscale dining experience, the restaurant is setting up shop at 1827 Olentangy River Road.

So, what’s on the menu?

For starters, The Capital Grille takes pride in its steaks, aged in-house for up to 24 days and hand-carved daily. Expect options like the Dry Aged Bone-in NY Strip, Porcini Rubbed Bone-In Ribeye with 15-Year Aged Balsamic, and Sliced Filet Mignon with Cipollini Onions, Wild Mushrooms, and Fig Essence. It’s clear they’re aiming to impress the steak connoisseurs out there.

But it’s not just about the meat. The Capital Grille is also known for its appetizers and sides, featuring dishes like Pan-Fried Calamari with Hot Cherry Peppers, Lobster Mac ‘N’ Cheese, and Lobster and Crab Cakes. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, their desserts, made fresh daily by a pastry chef, might just hit the spot—think brûlée-style cheesecake and coconut cream pie.

Wine aficionados, take note: the restaurant’s wine cellar houses over 3,000 bottles.

They even offer 30 wines by the glass, including some rare and limited options. And if you’re really into your wine, you can lease a private wine locker, complete with a brass nameplate and access to exclusive events.
